How Davis Busted Arrests Work
Arrests in Davis can start with one of three agencies. The Davis Police Department answers calls inside the city. Campus property belongs to the UC Davis Police Department, an entirely separate force. And once an adult heads to jail, the Yolo County Sheriff's Office takes over. Each agency keeps its own arrest or incident report. The county only opens a booking file when someone is actually delivered into custody, so where you search depends on who made the arrest.
The Census counted 66,850 residents on April 1, 2020. That number tells you nothing about records, though. A Davis Police arrest may appear in a city bulletin yet never show up in the Sheriff's monthly pressboard, since that PDF only covers YCSO arrests. Campus incidents may start with UC Davis Police instead. Adults accepted into county custody are booked at Monroe Detention Center in Woodland, the intake point for the whole county.
Where Davis Busted Mugshots Appear
No official Davis or Yolo source posts a complete public gallery of booking photos. The records are split by type instead. Police bulletins cover agency activity. Monroe Records and California VINE track custody. YCSO handles requests for any releasable jail photograph, while Yolo Superior Court shows what prosecutors filed and how a case resolved. News outlets and old commercial archives sit at the end of that list for a reason. They can be selective, stale, or out of step with a dismissal or sealing order.
| Channel | Photo? | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Davis Police Citizen RIMS | No photo feed | Official DPD daily bulletins, arrests, missing persons, and stolen vehicles |
| UC Davis Police | Not a gallery | Official records for campus and associated-property incidents |
| YCSO monthly PDF | No | YCSO arrests in a named month, not all Davis bookings or live custody |
| Monroe Records or VINE | No guaranteed photo | Current or changing county custody status |
| YCSO records request | Request separately | County booking record and any releasable jail photograph |
| Local news | Sometimes | Selected stories, often with police-supplied or file imagery |
| Mugshots.com Yolo archive | Yes | Unofficial historical material with visible year filters from 2011 through 2016 |
The last row is worth a caution. The Mugshots.com Yolo County archive does carry a Davis locality link, but its visible listings stop in 2016. Treat any match there as a starting point only. Confirm with the named agency and Yolo Superior Court before drawing any conclusion from it.
Search Davis Busted Booking Records
Start with the agency that made the arrest. A name on an unofficial page is not a record. Going to the agency first also avoids a false negative, because a city arrest may never appear in the Sheriff's limited monthly PDF. For countywide booking details, custody checks, feed information, and photo requests, see the Yolo County busted mugshots search.
- Decide whether Davis Police, UC Davis Police, YCSO, CHP, or another agency handled the event. Use the location and case number if known.
- For a city event, open the Davis Police daily bulletin and select the Bulletin tab. For a campus event, begin with UC Davis Police.
- Ask Monroe Records at 530-668-5245 or use California VINE to check current or changing county custody. VINE is an alert service, not a photo or court database.
- Send YCSO a precise request for the nonexempt booking record and, separately, the jail booking photograph for the named person and date.
- Search the Yolo Superior Court portal for the filed case, hearings, disposition, and sentence.
Custody status points you to the right source. Someone just booked can be confirmed through Monroe or VINE. After release, the person may drop out of custody checks entirely. The police report, booking record, and court case can still exist anyway. A transfer to state prison moves the person out of county territory altogether. That search belongs in CDCR's CIRIS system, not a county arrest log.
Note: Yolo County has no confirmed official same-day or 72-hour countywide booking feed, so do not substitute an aggregator for custody confirmation.
Davis Daily Police Bulletins
The city's Daily Police Activity Log leads into Citizen RIMS. Open the Bulletin tab to browse daily police bulletins. Entries can cover arrests, missing persons, stolen vehicles, and other police information. Keep in mind these are text records, not Davis busted mugshots. The city does not promise a fixed posting time or archive length, so a missing entry proves nothing.
Publication limits apply as well. Victim details and sensitive-crime information stay restricted. Anything about juvenile offenders is left out. A bulletin shows only what DPD reported at the time. It cannot confirm that Monroe accepted the person, that custody continued, or what prosecutors filed later. The Sheriff's monthly booking PDF does not close that gap either, since it counts YCSO arrests alone rather than every admission to Monroe from all agencies.
Why is a Davis arrest absent from the Sheriff PDF? DPD or UC Davis Police probably made it. That PDF is organized by arresting agency, not by who lands in the county jail.
Request Davis Police Arrest Records
For a DPD police report, use the official Davis report-copy form. It asks for the date and time of the incident, a case number, report type, arrest status, location, the parties involved, your interest in the matter, a signature, and a photo ID. Send the completed form to records@cityofdavis.org. One wrinkle: the form notes that an arrestee may need to route the request through the District Attorney, so follow whatever direction Records gives you.
Know which office holds what. DPD keeps its incident or arrest report and any image the agency holds. YCSO holds the Monroe booking sheet and the jail booking photograph. Davis lists media fees on a separate form: $66 per photo CD and $88 per audio or video item. These are not a promised mugshot price. Ask for a cost estimate first, and do not assume any photo will be released.
Note: Davis media charges are not a fixed jail-mugshot price, so request an estimate from the office holding the image.

The California Public Records Act allows exemptions and redactions. If part of a file is withheld, ask for the segregable, nonexempt portion. Juvenile, victim, medical, sealed, and sensitive investigative material may stay out of public view.
Which Davis Police Agency?
Davis has two police departments, and that trip up searches. An arrest labeled simply "Davis" could belong to the city force or to UC Davis Police. So start with the details. Was it on a city street or campus? Which agency does the case number point to? The officer's agency or the outlet named in a news story settles it fast. Once you know the department, send the police-record request there. Monroe Detention Center enters the picture only when the adult was booked into Yolo County custody.
Keep the chain of records straight, too. A police event, a county booking, a custody update, a prosecutor filing, and a court disposition each sit in a different system, and they rarely move in sync. An officer can log an arrest before the jail finishes intake. Someone can be released before a monthly PDF ever posts. Prosecutors may file new counts or drop them. The final outcome lives in the court's disposition, which is the endpoint worth tracking.
Davis Busted Arrest News
Local news is the practical first stop. The Davis Enterprise covers Davis Police activity, campus-area safety, arrests, and Yolo court cases, publishing on its own schedule rather than any booking cycle. A story may carry incident art or a police-supplied photo, but no regular mugshot gallery exists there. The Daily Democrat reports countywide and often includes Davis. The Davis Vanguard tends to follow cases through the courts, and the Sacramento Bee's Yolo section covers the city too, though some of its stories sit behind a paywall.
A news story is a lead, not a record. It gives you the agency, the date, the location, and a likely case. From there, the Yolo County crime news and mugshots page shows how to connect reporting to official sources. Outlets pick and choose what to publish, so always check where an image came from.
Skip the commercial mugshot sites for Davis. RecentlyBooked's Yolo route is gone, Busted Newspaper lists no California pages, Arrests.org skips Yolo, and Mugshots.zone has no working Yolo section. Their silence means nothing. A Davis arrest can still exist without a single commercial gallery showing it.
Note: A Davis label on an archive does not prove the arresting agency, present custody, or final Yolo court outcome.
Track Davis Booking Outcomes
A booking record is just step one. After intake at Monroe, a case moves to arraignment, where the court states the charges, then on to hearings and a final disposition. That disposition is the recorded result: dismissal, acquittal, plea, or conviction. Search Yolo Superior Court by name and case details, and confirm anything unclear with the clerk.
- Booking
- The jail intake process after an arrest.
- Custody
- The person's present confinement status, checked through Monroe or VINE.
- Disposition
- The court's recorded outcome, which may differ from the original booked charge.
- CIRIS
- California's search for qualifying sentenced state-prison and parole records, not recent Davis arrests.
Custody records shift under your feet. Once someone is released, the custody result vanishes while the arrest stays in police, booking, and court files. If a sentence sends a person to state prison, CDCR CIRIS becomes the place to check status, though it shows no public photo. These moving pieces are why no single Davis mugshot search can cover arrest, custody, and outcome at once.
